A Rescue During Our Summer holidays

This July 2011 I spent my holidays on the island of RAB in KROATIA: My daughter in law and my two grandsons ( 6 and 12 years old) were with me. We had our apartment in a little town, called LOPAR. One evening, when we went home from a late dinner, we passed a parking area. In this dark night on the black street I suddenly saw a tiny black figure with the biggest eyes in it's little face.
I ran over to the black kitten and took it in my arms to get a foto from me with this puppy. When I wanted to put it down afterwards, I didn't manage. It followed each of my steps, crying desperately "Miiiiiiiiiiiiiiew", "Miiiiiiiiiiiiiiew".
It didn't say "Miew"! Three times I carried it back, but it ran quickliest back to my feet. At this moment it started to rain heavily. So I put the little guy under my jacket und smuggled it into our holiday apartment.
The first night was terribly! LOPI, how I named him after the town LOPAR, cried and shouted all the time. He managed, to get all our beds wet and I had to wash our blankets during the whole night. In the next morning we immediately started to the island's only vet.
He told us, that LOPI would have died the next day, dehydrated, hungry, with inflammation of his eyes, a bad inflammation of his middle ears and a lot of worms in his stomage. The puppy had only a few hair left on it's tail. LOPI got injections, medicine and a passport. He got hidden by us nearly one and a half week in our apartment. Then we took him home with us for nearly seven hours by car.
At home my husband, our Eurasian dog and four other cats were waiting for us. My husband fell in love at once, when he saw this tiny little kitten, playing around without fear with our big dog and the four cat mates. Now LOPI is half a year old and a pretty, sweet little cat with a shining black fur. But we all (except my husband!) have got a MICROSPORUS CANIS from him.
The vet on the island had thought, lopi's missing hair was caused by a trap. He didn't realize, that the puppy had this skin disease. Till now (dezember2011!!!) my grandsons and I didn't get our lost hair ( on different parts of our heads) back. Lopi's veterinarians and our doctors costed me a lot! So our he-cat is a very precious beloved one. When he is hungry he always bites in our noses, cheeks or ears.
